British Rail FAV Conflat A British Railways Bauxite B709007
The Conflat A, a compact flat container wagon, was a design that emerged from Swindon after the Second World War. The initial models were built in Swindon and Wolverton, with a total of over 20,000 units produced. These wagons had the capacity to transport either one 'B' type or two 'A' type containers, and were frequently utilized for transporting 'AF' frozen food containers. They were phased out when more advanced container systems were introduced.
